AMBASSADOR MONTGOMERY IN POLITIKA

On Thursday, October 17, U.S. Ambassador William D. Montgomery visited the “Politika Newspapers and Magazines” company. “Politika’s” Director-General Darko Ribnikar hosted a meeting and introduced Ambassador Montgomery to “Politika’s” current activities and future operations.

Ambassador Montgomery was presented the Grand Prix of the 36th BITEF (Belgrade International Theatre Festival) on behalf of American director Robert Wilson. The “Politika” jury unanimously decided the award should go to this renowned artist for his work in directing the play “Woyzeck” performed by the Betty Nansen Theatre from Denmark.

The press described Robert Wilson as "a towering figure in the world of experimental theater and an explorer in the uses of time and space onstage. Transcending theatrical convention, he draws in other performance and graphic arts, which coalesce into an integrated tapestry of images and sounds."

Ambassador Montgomery addressed the audience and thanked them for this award given to an American artist.

AMBASADOR MONTGOMERI U POLITICI

U četvrtak, 17. oktobra, američki ambasador Vilijem D. Montgomeri posetio je kompaniju “Politika Newspapers and Magazines”. Generalni direktor “Politike” Darko Ribnikar upoznao je ambasadora Montgomerija sa sadašnjim aktivnostima i budućim planovima “Politike”. 

Ambasador Montgomeri primio je Grand Prix 36-og BITEF-a u ime američkog reditelja Roberta Vilsona. Politikin žiri jednoglasno je odlučio da ova nagrada pripadne ovom poznatom umetniku za režiju predstave “Vojcek” u izvođenju Beti Nensen Teatra iz Danske. 

Roberta Vilsona štampa opisuje kao “dominantnu figuru u svetu eksperimentalnog teatra i istraživača upotrebe vremena i prostora na sceni. Prevazilazeći ograničenja pozorišta, on upotrebljava elemente grafičke umetnosti, koji se slivaju u integrisani mozaik slike i zvuka.” 

Ambasador Montgomeri obratio se prisutnima i zahvalio na nagradi dodeljenoj američkom umetniku.
