U.S. Embassy and U.S. European Command To Conduct Seminar on "Civil Emergency/Disaster Relief Planning"

The Embassy of the United States and the U.S. European Command (EUCOM), in cooperation with Serbia and Montenegro's Ministry of Defense, will hold a three-day seminar on: Civil Emergency/Disaster Relief Planning from 7-9 March in Belgrade. This seminar is being organized under the auspices of the U.S. Government's Military to Military Cooperation Program.

The purpose of the seminar is to familiarize the SaM General Staff and MoD staff officers with the US military/National Guard system for emergency/disaster relief planning. Emphasis will be on how a plan is developed to assess the type of incident and the extent of the damage. The briefings and discussions should include: The Role of the National Guard; National Guard Response to Hurricane Katrina and Lessons Learned; Department of Defense Support to Civil Authorities; DoD Mission Support Concepts and Organization; Incident Command System ICS; and National Incident Management System.

The audience will include approximately twenty-six officers from the Ministry of Defense of Serbia and Montenegro, the General Staff of Serbia and Montenegro, the Department for Defense of the Republic of Montenegro, and representatives from local municipalities, and the Department for Civil Protection of the Ministry of Defense.

Ambasada SAD i Evropska komanda snaga SAD organizuju seminar "Planiranje pomoći civilnim strukturama u vanrednim situacijama "

Ambasada Sjedinjenih Država i Evropska komanda snaga SAD (EUCOM) u saradnji sa Ministarstvom odbrane SCG organizuju trodnevni seminar "Planiranje pomoći civilnim strukturama u vanrednim situacijama " od 7. do 9. marta u Beogradu. Ovaj seminar se organizuje pod okriljem vojno-vojnog programa američke vlade.

Cilj seminara je upoznavanje pripadnika Ministarstva odbrane SCG i oficira Generalštaba sa sistemom planiranja pomoći Vojske SAD/Nacionalne garde u slučajevima vanrednih okolnosti i katastrofa. Program će se fokusirati na načine na koji se razvija plan za procenu vrste incidenta i veličine štete. Brifinzi i diskusije će uključiti teme: Uloga Nacionalne garde, Reagovanje Nacionalne garde na uragan Katrina i naučene lekcije, Podrška Ministarstva odbrane civilnim strukturama, Koncept i organizacija i Nacionalni sistem za upravljanje incidentima.

Na seminaru će učestvovati oko 26 oficira iz Ministarstva odbrane Srbije i Crne Gore, Generalštaba SCG, Uprave za odbranu Republike Crne Gore, predstavnici lokalnih samouprava i Uprave za civilnu zaštitu sektora za ljudske resurse Ministarstva odbrane.

Zainteresovani mediji treba da dođu u sredu 8. marta u Vojnu Akademiju (Pavla Jurišića Šturma 33, Beograd) u 08:30 časova ujutru.
