U.S. Embassy Supports Participation of SaM Officials in a Conference on Defense Transformation
The U.S. Embassy in Belgrade is supporting the participation of three members of Serbia and Montenegro's military in a conference on defense transformation to take place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, April 9-11.
The conference is organized by the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Defense, and will provide a forum for presenting national perspectives on defense transformation and the way ahead. A Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy will brief the participants on the results of the U.S. Quadrennial Defense Review which represents a comprehensive examination of the national defense strategy, force structure, force modernization plans and other elements of the U.S. defense program and policies.
The three participants from Serbia and Montenegro include the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, a Special Advisor to Defense Minister for International Military Cooperation and a representative of the Strategic Planning Department in Ministry of Defense. They will join over 60 of their counterparts from the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council which brings together 26 NATO member countries and 20 partner countries for dialogue and consultation on political and security-related issues.

Ambasada SAD podržava učešće zvaničnika SCG na Konferenciji o transformaciji odbrane
Ambasada SAD u Beogradu pomaže učešće tri predstavnika vojske Srbije i Crne Gore na Konferenciji o transformaciji odbrane koja će se održati u Garmiš-Partenkirhenu, Nemačka, od 9. do 11. aprila.
Konferenciju organizuje Evropski centar za bezbednosne studije Džordž C. Maršal u saradnji sa Ministarstvom odbrane SAD i obezbediće forum za prezentovanje nacionalnih perspektiva o transformaciji odbrane i daljim planovima. Glavni zamenik podsekretara odbrane za politiku informisaće učesnike o rezultatima četvorogodišnjeg pregleda odbrane SAD koji predstavlja sveobuhvatnu analizu strategije nacionalne odbrane, strukture snaga, planova za modernizaciju i drugih elemenata programa i politike odbrane SAD-a.
Učesnici iz Srbije i Crne Gore su zamenik načelnika Generalštaba Vojske SCG, specijalni savetnik Ministra odbrane za međunarodnu vojnu saradnju i predstavnik Uprave za strateško planiranje u Ministrastvu odbrane. Oni će se pridružiti grupi od preko 60 učesnika iz Saveta Evroatlantskog Partnerstva koji okuplja 26 zemalja članica NATO i 20 zemalja partnera radi dijaloga i konsultacija iz oblasti političkih i bezbednosnih pitanja.
