General Wald, Deputy Commander, U.S. European Command, Visits Serbia
United States Air Force General Charles F. Wald, Deputy Commander, U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), visited Belgrade today and met with Minister of Defense Zoran Stankovic and Chief of the General Staff General Ljubisa Jokic.
The focus of the meetings was to discuss the importance of improved ties with Serbia and Montenegro and to establish senior level dialogue with the Ministry of Defense of Serbia and Montenegro on the status and future of our bilateral military to military relationship.
As part of the growing military to military relationship, General Wald highlighted the importance of securing a Status of Forces Agreement so that the U.S. can initiate interaction between Serbia and Montenegro and the state of Ohio National Guard as part of the U.S. National Guard Bureau's State Partnership Program. He also invited General Jokic for a reciprocal visit to EUCOM headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany.
General Wald also used the visit to encourage political and military support for the defense reform process, and stress the importance of concluding a Security Cooperation Agreement, which is critical for continued progress in building our bilateral military to military ties. The General highlighted the political importance of Belgrade's full compliance with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.

General Vold, zamenik komandanta američkih snaga u Evropi posetio Srbiju
General američkog ratnog vazduhoplovstva i zamenik komandanta Evropske komande snaga SAD (EUCOM) Čarls Vold boravio je danas u Beogradu gde se sastao sa ministrom odbrane Zoranom Stankovićem i načelnikom Generalštaba VSCG generalom Ljubišom Jokićem
Tema susreta je bio razgovor o važnosti poboljšanih odnosa sa Srbijom i Crnom Gorom i uspostavljanje dijaloga na visokom nivou sa Ministarstvom odbrane SCG o statusu i budućim bilateralnim vojnim vezama.
U kontekstu jačanja vojno-vojnih veza, general Vold naglasio je značaj realizacije Sporazuma o statusu snaga (Status of Forces Agreement SOFA) kako bi SAD započele saradnju između Srbije i Crne Gore i Nacionalne garde savezne države Ohajo, kao dela programa saradnje koji sprovodi uprava Nacionalne garda. On je takođe pozvao generala Jokića u uzvratnu posetu Evropskoj komandi snaga SAD (EUCOM), Štutgart, Nemačka.
General Vold je takođe iskoristio ovu posetu da ohrabri političku i vojnu podršku reformskim procesima u domenu odbrane i naglasi značaj zaključenja Sporazuma o bezbednosnoj saradnji (Security and Cooperation Agreement SCA) koji je ključan za nastavak napretka u izgradnji bilateralnih vojnih odnosa. General je ukazao na političku važnost pune saradnje Beograda sa Međunarodnim krivičnim sudom za bivšu Jugoslaviju.
