Debra Magpie Earling


Debra Earling
attended the University of Washington in Seattle, where she became interested in writing. She achieved her Bachelor of Arts in English, which she completed in 1986 with Phi Beta Kappa honors, graduating magna cum laude. As a Ford Doctoral Fellow, she studied at Cornell University in New York from 1988-91, where she graduated with a Masters in English. She went on to earn her Master of Fine Arts in Fiction in 1992 at Cornell. From 1991 to 1998, Earling held positions in both Native American Studies and Creative Writing at the University of Montana in Missoula. Currently, she is an associate professor in the English Department there and teaches fiction and Native American Studies full-time.

Debra Irling je studirala na Vašigton Univerzitetu u Sijetlu, gde je i počela da se zanima za pisanje. Diplomirala je na Odseku za engleski jezik 1986. godine sa najvišim počastima. Kao član Fordovog doktorskog udruženja, studirala je na Kornel Univerzitetu u Njujorku od 1988-91, gde je magistrirala engleski jezik. Nastavila je dalje sa radom u cilju dobijanja magistrature iz oblasti lepih umetnosti za književna prozna dela na Kornel Univerzitetu 1992. Od 1991. do 1998. Irling predaje dva predmeta: Studije izvorne američke kulture i Kreativno pisanje na Montana Univerzitetu u Misuli. Trenutno je vanredni profesor engleskog jezika gde predaje Pisanje proze i Studije izvorne američke kulture.

Bill Middleton
is the regional Information Resource Officer for the U.S. Department of State, based in Vienna, Austria. In his current position he works with embassy libraries in nine countries, covering the southern Caucusus and Balkan regions. He has worked as a librarian for the State Department since 1993, serving in Nigeria, Argentina, and Senegal. Prior to joining the State Department, Bill worked in the libraries of Columbia University in New York City, where he was head of the Government Documents department. He has a master’s degree in Library Science from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in English from San Francisco State University.


Bil Midlton je Stejt Dipatmentov regionalni savetnik za informacione resurse, sa sedištem u Beču, Austriji. Njegovo trenutno radno mesto podrazumeva rad sa bibliotekama u okviru američkih ambasada u devet država, obuhvatajući južni Kokus i Balkan. Radio je kao bibliotekar Stejt Dipertmenta od 1993. godine u Nigeriji, Argentini i Senegalu. William Tanner Vollmann


William Tanner Vollmann is an American novelist, journalist, short story writer and essayist. Vollmann studied at Deep Springs College and earned a B.A., summa cum laude, in comparative literature at Cornell University.

William T. Vollmann is the author of, among others, The Atlas (winner of the 1997 PEN Center West Award), You Bright and Risen Angels, The Rainbow Stories, and a series of novels entitled Seven Dreams: A Book of North American Landscapes. In addition, Vollmann's works of non-fiction include An Afghanistan Picture Show and Rising Up and Rising Down, a seven-volume treatise on violence that was nominated for the National Book Critics Circle Award in 2003. His journalism and fiction have been published in The New Yorker, Esquire, Spin, Gear, and Granta. He won the 2005 National Book Award for Fiction.

Vilijam Taner Volman je američki romanopisac, novinar, pisac kratkih priča i eseja. Volman je studirao na Dip Springs Koledžu i diplomirao sa najvišim počastima komparativnu literaturu na Kornel Univerzitetu.
Vilijam T. Volman je izmedju ostalog napisao The Atlas (dobitnik nagrade PEN Center West 1997), You Bright and Risen Angels, The Rainbow Stories, i serije novela pod naslovom Seven Dreams: A Book of North American Landscapes. Pored toga, Volmanov rad uključuje i An Afghanistan Picture Show i Rising Up and Rising Down, raspravu o nasilju u sedam tomova za koju je 2003. godine bio nominovan za Nacionalnu knjigu kritičkog kruga. Njegov novnarski rad i proza su objavljivani u Njujorkeru, Esvajer, Spin, Gir, i Granta časopisima. Godine 2005. dobio je National Book nagradu za prozu.

Predrag Pajić
, Senior Reference Librarian and South Slavic Specialist, has been employed in the Library of Congress for the past 35 years. Born July 9, 1933 in Banjaluka (Republic Srpska in Bosnia) he was educated in his native city (Teachers School), in Paris (St. Sergeus Theological Institute) and in Washington (Graduate School of The American University). Prior to emigration in 1957, he was employed as a journalist with several newspapers and with UPI (United Press International) in Yugoslavia. In Washington he served as a research analyst in Georgetown University, interpreter and escort officer with the US Department of State, and an acquisition librarian in the library of American University prior to working in the Library of Congress.


Predrag Pajić, stariji referensni bibliotekar i specijalista Južnoslovenske kulture, radi u Kongresnoj biblioteci poslednjih 35 godina. Rodjen je septembra 1933. godine u Banjaluci (Republka Srpska). Učiteljsku školu završio je u svom rodnom gradu, a dalje obrazovanje stekao u Parizu (Sent Seržu Teološki Institut) i Vašingtonu. Pre nego što je emigrirao1957, radio je kao novinar za nekoliko časopisa i za UPI (United Press International) u Jugoslaviji. U Vašingtonu je radio kao analitičar istraživanja u Džordžtaun Univerzitetu, prevodilac i pratilac Stejt Dipartmenta, i kao bibliotekar u odeljenju nabavke u biblioteci Američkog Univerziteta pre nego što se zaposlio u Kongresnoj biblioteci.

is the Executive Director and Academic Advisor of the International Academic Center in Serbia, a member of the EducationUSA network of overseas advising centers, affiliated and certified through the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State.


Elizabet Čang je izvršni direktor i akademski savetnik Medjunarodnog Akademskog Centra u Srbiji, član EducationUSA mreže centara, priznatih i sertifikovanih od strane Biroa za obrazovanje i kulturu Stejt Dipartmenta.



Gary Weaver

Gary Weaver


For thirty-eight years Gary Weaver has been a member of the faculty of the School of International Service at American University in the Division of International Communication. This is the largest school of international affairs in the country. He created and directed various academic programs at the University including the Seminar on Managing a Multicultural Workforce, the Fulbright Pre-Academic Program, and the Community Studies Program, an academic program intended to meet the needs of inner city students attending American University. He has also taught courses on multicultural management in the National Training Laboratory’s (NTL) American University graduate program.

Dr. Geri Viver je profesor medjunarodnih i interkulturalnih komunikacija i izvršni direktor Instituta za interkulturalni menadžment u Školi za medjunarodnu saradnju na Američkom Univerzitetu u Vašingtonu. Već trideset i osam godina Dr. Viver je predavač na ovom univerzitetu, Škola za medjunarodnu saradnju, Odeljenje za medjunarodnju komunikaciju. Ovo je najveća škola medjunarodnih odnosa u Americi. Kreirao je i upravljao različitim akademskim programima na univerzitetu, uključujući Seminar o upravljanju multikulturalnom radnom snagom, Fulbrajtov Pred-Akademski Program, i Program društvenih studija, akademski program osmišljen za studente iz gradskog jezgra koji pohadjaju Američki univerzitet. Professor Marvin Kenneth Hoffman
has extensive experience in public administration: 12 years as a City and County Manager plus 16 years experience directing highly successful Master of Public Administration degree programs. He has published research in the area of public policy, has significant experience in curricular reform activities in US and SEE universities, has led workshops on European Credit Transfer System issues in Macedonia and Serbia and has taught and conducted
research at the University of Belgrade.


Profesor Hofman ima opsežno iskustvo u oblasti javne administracije: 12 godina kao gradski i okružni menadžer, plus 16 godina iskustva u upravljanju veoma uspešnog programa Master javne administracije; objavio istraživanja iz oblasti javne politike; značajno iskustvo u reformi školskih aktivnosti na američkim i univerzitetima jugoistočne Evrope; vodi radionice na temu Evropskih sistema za transfer kredita u Makedonji i Srbiji.
Kao gostujući Fulbrajt profesor, predaje i vodi istraživanja na Univerzitetu u Beogradu .
